Being an analog sort of fellow I prefer hand drafting to all else. But swimming in technology as we are, I prefer the precision and customization of AutoCAD to other platforms. There are things it cannot do easily- integrating mechanical systems, load calculations, lighting plans- and for that we have other software. Its near universal basis of design software over the last several decades is an undisputed advantage, as well as its reliability and malleability in the hands of an experienced designer.
